Former Metropolitan College learners are exceling in their chosen professions and careers.
Metropolitan College is a great Institution of learning, providing academic excellence and quality education.
With the numerous programmes offered, the college is dedicated to meet its vision by producing learners
that are internationally recognised.
We had the opportunity to meet and interview some of them. Below is a summary of their responses.
I’m Mhlengi Mmeli Mhlongo, 27 years of age and I finished my matric in 2012. When I was enrolled at Metropolitan College, I had lost hope of ever achieving my dream of becoming a medical doctor because my previous matric results were disappointing. The school gave me a second chance by restoring my confidence through hard work and determination. The evening studies and Saturday lessons played a vital role and I am thankful for that.
My fondest memory at Metropolitan College was the prize giving day, I received numerous prizes and certificates for my diligence and hard work. I remember my classmates shouting my name, calling me Dr. Mhlongo and I knew that my dream would surely come true. 2019 is my final year as a medical student in Russia. I was also the president of South African students, uncontested for the six years of my studies.
To me, Metropolitan College is a constant reminder that, the sky is not the limit but the beginning.
PROUD METROPOLITAN SCHOOLS PRODUCTS ON THE SHOW.
Metropolitan College encouraged me to do well in my studies. I was the best learner for three consecutive years, that is grade in 8, 9 and 10. I got all the assistance I needed until I made it for matric in 2016. The night study programme helped a lot and it was the reason I made it brilliantly with five (5A’s) and two (2B’s). I was the overall top achiever that year.
I am about to finish my Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and Geology at Rhodes University. I plan to go into Honours and study one of majors further.
This year (2019), I took part in a third year internship program and I did research on dead stromatolites. A lot of discoveries were made. However, I will still go further.
I have made it this far because of the background I got from METROPOLITAN COLLEGE. They provided all the information and knowledge a student needs to make a good career decision. This was done through University contact trips and the numerous visits of subject and career specialists and some University authorities on the campus.
The current students of METROPOLITAN COLLEGE have everything they need to make their dreams come true. The school is far much better than it was during my time, meaning more resources and benefits. I can proudly say that parents have made a good choice for their children by sending them to METRO. All that is left to do is to study hard and put in the efforts.
I wish you all the best!
Metropolitan College has played a pivotal role in my life. I remember the evening studies and the extra classes on Saturdays. My appreciation to all my teachers and especially the Director Mr C. Kouatcho, for his parental guidance. Other learners should benefit from these as well.
My name is Musa Khosa. I was born in Kabokweni. I matriculated from Metropolitan International College in White River with beautiful results in 2015 and today, I am a pilot. I did not only have the dream to become a pilot but I had also the passion for it.
I then enrolled in a flight school, Loutzavia Flight Academy in Pretoria Wonderboom Airport, where careers in aviation are offered.
According to my point of view, there are two types of Education; one teaches us how to make a living and the other how to make the living live. The effective way to do it is just to do it.
