Message from the principal.

We would like to express my sincere appreciation and thanks to the parents, guardians, stakeholders, educators, learners and also the Mpumalanga department of education for their unwavering collaboration and support for the successful completion of this academic year.

Once again we have witnessed a successful academic year; full of vibrancy and dedication to the task at hand– from both the staff, learners, and management. Although this academic year has been challenging, it’s by the grace of God that we sailed to the end. Our commitment has always been to see learners excelling in their studies, leave a mark in the school and the province at large so they could shine wherever they might be. During this school year, we allowed them to express themselves academically, spiritually and physically in various activities they engaged themselves in.

Metropolitan College envisages an all-around and balanced education based on sound intellectual, physical, moral and social formation. Special stress has been laid on the character formation and development of personality. The aim is to make learners erudite, patriotic, law abiding and ceaselessly seeking excellence, with a deep concern for all especially the weak and the poor sections of the society. Whatever our learners have learned from this institution will enable them to stand in good stead in every situation. It will guide and make them life successful and happy.

In our commitment to enhance learner’s performance we have engaged highly qualified staff devoted to see the learners’ dreams come true. We provide evening studies personally supervised to assure complete coverage of syllabus on time, revision and various assessment were done to strengthen the learners on what is taught. The year has been full of change. Thank you to our team, who have continued our learning journey. You are all incredibly dedicated and hardworking team. We appreciate your expertise and encouragement of all of the students.

Furthermore, we wish to appeal to all stakeholders, that we have the same objectives, seeing these learners walk through life finding their dreams come true. We always reinforce that during school time, learners at school to avoid numerous distractions outside the school community. We have successfully completed the preparatory September examinations. We still pride ourselves with committed staff and the innovative spirit of our higher management. Metropolitan College has put in place conducive classrooms, hostels, gym section and sports ground to prepare our learners not only for academic but with extra-curricular activities too.

Lastly, we would like to encourage our Grade 12 class of 2023 to be more positive, focus as we shall celebrate our success in January 2024. Try to remember that, as you face big changes, you are not alone. We will be thinking of you. There are good things waiting for you just around the corner. So step out with confidence and take new opportunities in your stride.
